Luminous Benches

Just sit and read a book, pose for a photo or cuddle with a loved one. In Hofgarten 14 benches luminate in the night and make the trees shine in a soft green light. There is no fixed start time, they are switched on when it gets dark.

The lightbenches by artist Stefan Sous were actually developed and installed only for an exhibition. After that, they should have been deinstalled. But not with the locals! What we like, we want to keep! The city thought the same and bought the installation.

Unfortunately, the installation is not just a popular photo opportunity: Often, one of the banks is dark because it has been vandalized by some idiots. However, the city usually repairs the artwork very fast. In November 2021, the benches were re-erected after being completely dismantled and modernized over two years.
